​Counselor

Description:

Looking for a skilled counselor who is familiar working with youth and families. You will help program members with problems they are facing and how to build healthy coping mechanisms for long term solutions. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform initial evaluations of program member and develop plan
• Help program member/families in defining the problem
• Educate  program member/families on healthy problem solving techniques

Requirements:

• Experience as a counselor or a similar role
• Degree or certificate 
• Verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to empathize with youth and parents 
• Proven experience in developing effective treatment plans

​Tutors

Description:

Tutors will help students in our program with various subjects. You must be comfortable working with different ages/grade levels. Additionally, you must have knowledge of different or specific subjects well enough to help students increase performance.  

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to student learning, growth, and advancement
• Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s) and build a curriculum
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning
• Collaborate with students and parents to increase student performance

Requirements:

• Experience as a tutor or similar role
• Patient flexible, positive, prepared
• Ability to supervise students

​Transportation Driver

​Description:

Our Transportation Driver will help with transferring cargo from our office to different locations and events. You must be able to help with loading and unloading cargo at  location before and after event. 

Responsibilities:

• Properly arranging and securing cargo within a vehicle
• Map out route ahead of time to ensure proper delivery 
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Ability to lift heavy packages

​Program Planner Assistant

​Description:

Our Program Planner Assistant will help facilitate and develop logistics for our current and upcoming programs. 

Responsibilities:

• Use Philly Peace in Progress’ mission and values to identify upcoming programs that would be beneficial
• Improve the quality of programs
• Assist with the organization, planning, and execution of programs

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role
• Highly organized and efficient

​Food Distribution Assitant

​Description:

Our Food Distribution Assistant will help be responsible for providing customers with the appropriate food. 

Responsibilities:

• Select the correct box according to the household size and box type
• Keep the food distribution area clean and free of spills
• Attend any relevant training
• Offer people the choice of food (based on availability) according to household size
• Other office duties as needed

Requirements:

• Willingness to follow directions
• Ability to work as a team
• Organizational skills
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs
• Ability to tolerate walking and standing up to 2 hours
• Ability to bend, reach, and grasp food items

​Dance Teacher

​Description:

We are looking for a passionate dance teacher to teach at upcoming events and programs for our youth. You must be vibrant, welcoming, and enthusiastic about dancing and working with youth. 

Responsibilities:

• Choreograph dance pieces for children and organize performance details
• Plan various student activities
• Prepare Classes, observe and track student progress
• Administrate dance classes to disadvantage adolescents participating in the organization’s programs
