Whether you help at events, mentor youth, support outreach, or share professional skills, your service helps create safer, stronger communities.
Community Volunteers Roles
- Activity Station Helper — Leads games, crafts, or activity tables during community events and youth programs.
- Attendance & Sign-In Volunteer — Manages sign-in sheets, tracks attendance, and helps participants check in smoothly.
- Book Sorting & Distribution Volunteer — Organizes donated books, prepares literacy kits, and helps distribute reading materials.
- Classroom/Workshop Assistant — Supports facilitators with small groups, learning activities, materials, and classroom flow.
- Cleanup Crew Volunteer — Assists with trash removal, end-of-event cleanup, and resetting the space after programs.
- Community Outreach Ambassador — Promotes programs by passing out flyers, visiting local businesses, and sharing information in neighborhoods.
- Community Partnership Support — Helps identify, contact, and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, organizations, and local businesses.
- Costume Character / Holiday Helper — Supports themed events as a holiday helper, character assistant, or festive event volunteer.
- Donation Pickup & Delivery Volunteer — Picks up donated items from businesses or supporters and delivers them to program or event sites.
- Event Photographer — Takes photos during programs and events to help document activities and community impact.
- Event Setup & Breakdown Crew — Sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, decorations, supplies, and event materials.
- Event Team Lead — Oversees a small group of volunteers during major events and helps ensure assigned areas run smoothly.
- Event Videographer — Captures short videos during events and programs for recaps, promotion, and social media content.
- Executive Assistant — Provides administrative support with scheduling, communications, organizing documents, and assisting leadership with day-to-day tasks.
- Experience & Engagement Volunteer — Greets families, creates a welcoming environment, supports event flow, and helps participants feel included.
- Food & Refreshment Helper — Assists with organizing, serving, and monitoring snacks, drinks, or meals during programs and events.
- Giveaway & Resource Table Volunteer — Distributes books, food, toys, supplies, and community resources to families and participants.
- Grant Writer Volunteer — Helps research funding opportunities, draft grant proposals, and prepare supporting information for applications.
- Literacy Activity Helper — Supports reading-related crafts, games, book activities, and literacy stations for children and youth.
- Marketing Assistant — Supports marketing efforts by helping create flyers, organize content, draft announcements, and assist with outreach materials. This role may be remote or hybrid.
- Marketing Manager — Plans and coordinates marketing strategies, promotional campaigns, and communications to increase program visibility. This role may be remote.
- Partnership Outreach Assistant — Delivers letters, gathers contact information, follows up with organizations, and helps build local partnerships.
- Program Coordinator — Helps organize program schedules, materials, communications, and volunteer needs to support smooth program delivery.
- Program Lead Assistant — Supports the Program Manager with on-site leadership, volunteer guidance, setup, and program coordination.
- Program Manager — Helps plan, organize, and oversee programs, volunteers, schedules, and communication. This role may be remote or hybrid depending on program needs.
- Program Site Coordinator — Oversees volunteers at a program site, supports daily operations, and communicates updates to the Program Manager.
- Program Support Assistant — Helps youth during activities and supports setup, cleanup, materials, and general program needs.
- Registration & Check-In Volunteer — Greets families, manages sign-ins, answers basic questions, and provides event information.
- Safety Monitor / Hallway Monitor — Monitors entrances, hallways, and shared spaces to help maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Setup Assistant — Helps prepare rooms, tables, supplies, decorations, and materials before programs or events begin.
- Social Media Manager — Creates, schedules, and manages social media content to promote programs, events, volunteer opportunities, and community impact.
- Social Media Supervisor — Provides guidance for social media volunteers, reviews content, and helps maintain consistent messaging and posting standards.
- Storage & Organization Volunteer — Organizes storage areas, labels materials, and helps keep program supplies easy to find and track.
- Storytime Reader — Reads books aloud to children during literacy events, classroom visits, and youth activities.
- Street Team Volunteer — Promotes programs and events in public spaces by sharing flyers, speaking with community members, and encouraging participation.
- Supply & Inventory Helper — Sorts, organizes, and tracks supplies, donations, and event materials.
- Volunteer Manager — Helps recruit, schedule, communicate with, and support volunteers before, during, and after programs or events.
- Youth Engagement Mentor — Works directly with youth during workshops, activities, and group sessions to provide encouragement and positive support.
- Youth Line Leader / Group Chaperone — Helps guide youth from one activity to another and supports safe group movement during programs.
- Youth Recruitment Assistant — Shares program information with schools, recreation centers, libraries, and families to encourage youth participation.
